Christina Aguilera Nominated For 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards



Congratulations to Christina Aguilera for being nominated in the 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards for her performance in Burlesque! Christina has gained a nomination in the Best Original Song in a Motion Picture category for the song "Bound To You" (listen here). The beautiful song was written by Samuel Dixon with lyrics written by Christina and Sia Furler.

Co-star Cher also receives a nomination in the Best Original Song in a Motion Picture category with her Diane Warren penned track "You Haven't Seen The Last of Me."

Not only did Christina and Cher get nominations in the Best Original Song in a Motion Picture category but the entire cast of Burlesque has been nominated in the Best Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical category. Congrats!!

Be sure to tune in to the 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards when it airs on Sunday, January 16, 2011 at 8:00 PM EST on NBC from The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.

BURLESQUE HITS THE #1 SPOT ON ITUNES OVER THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND


(NEW YORK - NY) - Burlesque, the soundtrack to the Sony Pictures film Burlesque, starring Christina Aguilera and Cher hit the #1 position at iTunes over the holiday weekend and as of release time is still holding down the #1 spot. Released on November 22nd on RCA Records, Burlesque features new recordings performed and co-written by five time Grammy winner Christina Aguilera, with production by Tricky Stewart, Linda Perry and Ron Fair and songwriting by Claude Kelly, Tricky Stewart and Sia.

The soundtrack also features two brand new tracks performed by the legendary Cher, including "You Haven't Seen The Last Of Me", a powerful Diane Warren penned ballad which was produced by Matt Serletic. This marks Cher's first new original song in seven years as well as her first movie musical. The soundtrack also includes remakes / covers of classic songs such as Etta James' "Something's Got A Hold On Me" and "Tough Lover" and Mae West's "A Guy What Takes His Time" all performed by Christina Aguilera.

Christina Aguilera makes her theatrical film and musical debut as the lead character in Burlesque where she co-stars along with the legendary Cher in her first major film role since 1999. Burlesque, which is currently in theaters, was released by Screen Gems / Sony Pictures nationwide on on Wednesday, November 24th, is written and directed by Steven Antin and produced by Donald De Line.
