THESE THINGS HAPPEN RELEASED IN THE UK
“His success isn't an accident, he's one of the hardest working in the game, and he took what could have been a niche lane… and put himself in the position to compete with rap's biggest names.”– Pigeons and Planes
(New York, NY – July 23, 2014) Tonight, G-Eazy is set to make his late night television debut on Late Night with Seth Meyers at 12:35pm EST / 11:35pm CST on NBC. The Bay Area rapper will perform a medley of his hit tracks “I Mean It” and “Far Alone” featuring Jay Ant off his new album These Things Happen.
Directly following G-Eazy’s late night debut, he will jet to perform at the upcoming mtvU Awards at ComicCon in San Diego on July 24th. The newly minted award show will broadcast nationwide on July 27th at 8pm EST / 7pm CST on MTV and mtvU with G-Eazy sharing the stage with Linkin Park. This week’s television performances are another highpoint in the crescendo that has quickly built into what the Oakland Tribune dubbed as a “deafening” buzz.
Additionally, this week, following a strong showing at Wireless Festival in Birmingham and London, G-Eazy released These Things Happen in the UK. The album is currently XX on the iTunes Chart and G-Eazy’s singles are receiving airplay on BBC Radio with legendary DJs Tim Westwood and Charlie Sloth.
Coming off a sold out 40-date North American headlining tour this spring, G-Eazy’s lauded new album These Things Happen was released on June 23rd, topping the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop and Top Rap Albums Charts at #1, while garnering the #3 position on both the Billboard 200 and Top Digital Albums Chart. G-Eazy’s accomplishments have not gone unnoticed, earning praise from The New York Times, Pitchfork and VIBE, who noted G-Eazy’s method for success in their review of These Things Happen, stating: “Sans radio single, sans famous rapper cosign, sans beats from super producers, the Bay Area-native has leveraged blog exposure, social media reach and a relentless touring schedule into a sizeable fan base.” The rap community has paid their respects as well; with Maybach Music Group founder Rick Ross laying down a verse on the remix to G-Eazy’s current single “I Mean It.”
