Co-written by Hot Chelle Rae band members Ryan Follese and Nash Overstreet (*check out full song credits below), “Don’t Say Goodnight” is the first official single from their forthcoming 3rd studio album.
Comments lead singer and songwriter Ryan Follese: “The inspiration for this song came from several places. We wanted to do something representative of the way we live our lives…whether it’s working or having fun, we like to stay up late and the best way to do that is with all your friends. So many nights of seeing the sunrise kind of just came out in the music.”
Other collaborators working with the band in the studio include Martin Johnson of Boys Like Girls and Nashville-based producers and writers Robert Marvin, Kyle Shearer, and David Marshall, as well as re-connecting with “Tonight Tonight” and “I Like I Like That” hitmakers Andrew Goldstein, Dan Book, and Alexi Misoul.
Winners of the 2011 American Music Award for Best New Artist, Hot Chelle Rae released their sophomore album WHATEVER that same year, which featured their mega-smash hits “Tonight Tonight” and “I Like It Like That” that sold over 6 million singles.
Since the release of their sophomore award-winning album, they spent most of 2012 and 2013 in the studio and on the road including a worldwide headlining tour and support dates with Demi Lovato, Taylor Swift, and Justin Bieber. Says guitarist and songwriter Nash Overstreet,” We’re so ready for the world to hear our new material and to get back on the road. We miss performing in front of our fans so much, and can’t wait to be playing ‘DSG’ for them every night.”
The band has performed for millions around the world, as well as on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2012 Live from Times Square, The American Music Awards Red Carpet Show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Today Show Summer Concert Series Live in Rockefeller Plaza, Live with Kelly!, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and CBS Early Show, among others.
