14-Year-Old Phoenix Tween Beats Out 45,000 Young Aspiring Performers to Win

NEW YORK, NY (October 24, 2011) — KIDZ BOP, the #1 kids’ music brand in the U.S., today announced that Kiana Brown is the Grand Prize Winner of its second annual KIDZ Star USA Talent Search–America’s biggest national talent competition for kids ages 15 and under. As part of the major prize package, the 14-year-old Phoenix, AZ native receives a recording contract from RCA Records and will fly out to Los Angeles next month where she will shoot a guest starring role in the upcoming KIDZ BOP 21 TV commercial and new KIDZ BOP music video. KIDZ Star USA is hosted on KIDZBOP.com, the leading safe social network and video sharing site for kids and tweens.
This year, 45,000 kids from across the country entered the competition and there were over two million fan votes to help determine the winner. Endemol, the largest independent television and digital production company in the world (“Big Brother” and “Wipe Out”), produced a reality web series following the musical journey of the Top 4 Finalists as they traveled from their hometowns to New York City to compete in exciting challenges for their chance to become the next KIDZ Star. Earlier this week, KIDZ BOP flew to Kiana’s hometown to surprise her with the Grand Prize. More than 1,500 kids, fans and family members were on hand to support Kiana, including Celebrity Judge and Mentor, American Idol winner, Kris Allen, who gave a special surprise performance.
