ENDEMOL PRODUCING WEB SERIES FOR THE ONLINE TALENT CONTEST
NEW YORK, NY (June 23, 2011) — KIDZ BOP, the #1 kids’ music brand in the U.S., today announced the launch of its second annual KIDZ Star USA Talent Search, the premier national talent competition for kids and teens ages 15 and under. The online talent search is hosted on KIDZ BOP’s leading safe social networking and video sharing website, KIDZBOP.com, and gives aspiring young singers a shot at fame, right from home. Now until August 15th, kids can upload a :90 second performance video to KIDZBOP.com to compete for a chance to win a recording contract with the RCA/JIVE Label Group, a starring role in the next KIDZ BOP TV commercial and music video, and much more. Endemol, the largest independent television and digital production company in the world, is producing a series of webisodes following the musical journey of the top KIDZ Star USA contestants. A panel of celebrity judges, who will be announced shortly, will mentor the contestants and help select the winners. Fans will also have the opportunity to vote online for their favorites to help determine the semi-finalists and Grand Prize Winner.
Fans can follow the contestants’ audition videos and progress online at KIDZBOP.com and watch weekly KIDZ Star USA clips and webisodes, including contestant highlights, audition tips and celebrity judge comments. The top four KIDZ Star USA finalists will be announced in September and will then be flown to New York City where they’ll receive the red carpet treatment, including a superstar makeover and mentoring from the celebrity judges. The final fan voting period runs this September and helps determine the winner of the recording contract. A special finale web event featuring the four finalists and celebrity judges will be broadcast online this October. In 2010, more than 35,000 kids entered and over a half a million people voted in the inaugural KIDZ Star USA Talent Search competition.
