Two of the biggest Kings of Leon fans to document epic concert at Ireland’s Slane Castle in ultimate fan grand prize
New York, May 23, 2011 – MTV today announced the winners of The Road to Slane Castle contest with Kings of Leon and SuperGlued, the live music social media-based community, ending its search to find the two biggest Kings of Leon fans to join them for exclusive access at the band’s show at Ireland’s Slane Castle. MTV.com will debut the concert on June 9th with select clips going into video rotation on MTV.
"We're glad that American fans will get to experience the craziness of Irish crowds that we've enjoyed for almost ten years now,” said Nathan Followill of Kings of Leon.
Caila Noel Curtis, 22 of Denton, TX and Sam Magro, 19 of Pennsauken, NJ, will join the band in Ireland and profile them behind the scenes before they take the stage at Slane Castle on May 28. Through video diaries of the band shot by the winners, live streams at specific stops along the road (sound checks, etc) and live-blogging, Curtis and Magro will bring the front-row experience to Kings of Leon fans across the globe.
Chosen from thousands of entries, Curtis and Magro proved to be the ultimate Kings of Leon fans, expressing their passion and love of the band through Facebook, posting photos from past shows and submitting videos to MTV.com.
“Not only does this contest allow two of Kings of Leon’s biggest fans the rare opportunity to interact with the band, but it also empowers them to profile the concert from their own unique perspective and voice,” said Amy Doyle, Executive Vice President of Music and Talent for MTV.
