Mike Posner To Headline 2011 mtvU VMA Tour

New York, NY – June 10, 2011 – mtvU, MTV’s 24-hour college network, returns to Six Flags this year to bring fans the hottest new music as part of the “2011 mtvU Video Music Awards (VMA) Tour.” The explosive performances will kick-off on July 28 at Six Flags New England (Agawam, MA). Pop singer-songwriter and producer Mike Posner will perform at each date, with special guests to be announced at a later date.

Since the release of Posner's debut album 31 Minutes To Takeoff in August of 2010, Posner has traveled the world promoting his album and first three smash singles, the multi-platinum breakout hit “Cooler Than Me,” his top 10 follow up “Please Don’t Go” and his current hit "Bow Chicka Wow Wow" feat. Lil' Wayne. He was nominated for an American Music Award for “Breakthrough Artist” and has been praised by critics, with Rolling Stone saying "Mike Posner is at the head of a new genre..." In March of 2009, Posner’s first mixtape A Matter of Time (recorded in his dorm room) rose to the #1 position on iTunes.

After signing a deal with J Records that summer, Posner returned to Duke University to finish up his course load, all the while beginning work on his debut album, self-releasing his second free mixtape One Foot Out The Door (featuring collaborations with 3Oh!3, Bun B, Kid Cudi, Wale) through iTunesU and rocking shows every weekend at colleges and festivals across the country.
