NO MYTHOLOIES TO FOLLOW OUT: 3/10/14 (UK) + 3/11/14 (US) (CHESS CLUB/RCA VICTOR RCA RECORDS)

“You’re not hiding behind anything or hiding behind perfection. Fuck perfection. It’s about giving the audience a true experience, if you’re able to.” – MØ

"If there is any justice left in the Grammys, then one year from today, MØ might be waking up in a fog after celebrating her win for Best New Artist." -- Vogue

WHO:
Think CHVRCHES and MS MR with more attitude. Think MIA and Santigold, but without the political and cultural polarization. Think Lorde, but with a strong message, a movement, a vibe and a face behind her. MØ (pronounced moo in Denmark – allow this awkward reporter for Virgin Mobile and Karen help you pronounce it) is 25-year-old Karen Marie Ørsted who describes herself as “this Scandinavian mixture of pop girl, punk girl, and hip-hop girl.” At heart though, she is the punk rock girl who grew up on Sonic Youth, while on the surface, enjoys current musical styling’s the likes of Avicii, SOHN, Diplo, Blood Orange and more. Karen hails from Denmark, but has made a life of traveling the world. Introduced to her early on via a CMJ showcase in 2012, a slew of US shows, then SXSW in 2013, we have been in constant pursuit of this pure talent, amazing songwriter, singer and overall exciting recording artist. We are so happy she is now part of the RCA roster. TIP: If you want to type the Ø on a PC, turn on num lock, hold alt, and type 0216 on your keypad.
