SARAH MCLACHLAN ANNOUNCES SUMMER SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA TOUR

(March 5, 2012 – New York, NY) With the success of Sarah McLachlan’s special symphony orchestra performances last summer at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, the Hollywood Bowl and MusicFest Vancouver 2011, McLachlan has announced a new symphony orchestra tour, which will be making stops throughout the United States and Canada.

Known for her usually intimate shows, McLachlan gave fans a new experience when she performed with an orchestra for the first time ever with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre. She received rave reviews for her recent symphonic shows. The Denver Post raved, “Walking on stage with a luminous smile, a beautiful black gown, bare feet, and a lovely acoustic guitar, McLachlan wasted no time in connecting with her audience…McLachlan’s richly textured, achingly resonant voice sparkled in the confines of Red Rocks, making the song feel part prayer, part celebration.”

Sarah McLachlan is teaming up with Tickets-for-Charity.com® to offer fans access to fantastic first row seats and a special meet & greet opportunity to benefit the Sarah McLachlan School of Music and its mission to bring music education to young people through free music programs dedicated to inspiring confidence, creativity and a sense of community among students. These VIP Charity Packages will be available exclusively at  www.ticketsforcharity.com.

Multi-platinum, Grammy-Award winning singer/songwriter Sarah McLachlan’s most recent album LAWS OF ILLUSION  (2010) was released to overwhelming critical acclaim. USA Today raved:  “Some of her most buoyant and beautifully crafted songs ever. Candid and thoughtful, LAWS OF ILLUSION, finds her tackling heartache head-on and leaves no doubt that she wants to find love again – and will.” And The New York Times glows: “The songs are as direct as Ms. McLachlan’s have ever been, and as finely tuned…The album is as lush and measured…It’s a collection of ballads, hymns, and waltzes, sung in long arcs of melody with a voice that enfolds its strength in breathy intimacy. Acoustic instruments gleam, with unearthly keyboards and electric guitars billowing up around them.”
