A$AP Rocky Covers Pollstar

If there were any doubts A$AP Rocky, underground hip-hops wonder-boy from Harlem, was destined to change the rap game forever, then his recent tour with Drake can surely dismiss them.

Recalling summer 2011, before Rocky had really headlined, “He did a show at Santos [Party House in Manhattan] and sold it out, it was a really big deal,” said Joshua Dick, who co-books Rocky in the U.S. “Drake was there in the VIP section, and it’s not the type of club where you’d normally see a Drake type. That’s when people started to say this seems legit and real.”

After selling some 30 headline shows up-and-down the east coast, there was no stopping the building momentum of the A$AP mob. “The true indicator was the Toronto show, where we sold out one show in a day, and upgraded to a bigger room [900 capacity] and sold out in three days,” said Dick. “And this is just Toronto.”

Pollstar reports he'll be headlining a European and South American tour this summer, as well as heating up stages at Coachella and Bamboozle. Read More.

Kelly Clarkson And The Fray Announce Co-Headlining Summer Tour

KELLY CLARKSON AND THE FRAY ANNOUNCE CO-HEADLINING SUMMER TOUR

SPECIAL GUEST CAROLINA LIAR TO SUPPORT

(New York, New York) – Global superstar Kelly Clarkson and Grammy nominated The Fray are joining forces for a 30+ city co-headlining summer tour. The tour will start on July 21st in Ridgefield, Washington, with special guest Carolina Liar, and end on September 15th in Nashville, TN. Both headline acts will be touring in support of their most recent albums (Kelly Clarkson – Stronger and The Fray – Scars & Stories).

Since bursting onto the music scene 10 years ago, Kelly Clarkson has released 5 studio albums (Thankful, Breakaway, My December, All I Ever Wanted, Stronger), sold over 20 million albums worldwide, 10 million albums in the US and has had 10 singles in the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart. She is the recipient of 2 Grammy Awards, 4 American Music Awards, 3 MTV Video Music Awards, 2 Academy of Country Music Awards, 1 Country Music Association Award and 12 Billboard Music Awards. Clarkson’s most recent effort Stronger debuted at #2 on both the Billboard Top 200 and Digital Albums Chart. The album is certified Gold by the R.I.A.A. and produced the smash singles, “Mr. Know It All” and “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)” which marks Kelly’s 9th and 10th Top 10 hit. “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)” was #1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart for two consecutive weeks (3 weeks total) marking her 3rd #1 on the Hot 100 chart after 2002’s “A Moment Like This” and 2009’s “My Life Would Suck Without You.” Kelly is currently touring the US, mentoring for Team Blake on NBC’s The Voice and will star in ABC’s new reality competition, Duets this summer. Kelly’s third single from the album will be “Dark Side”. The Fray is Isaac Slade (pianist/vocalist), Joe King (guitarist/vocalist), Dave Welsh (guitarist), and Ben Wysocki (drummer). The Denver-based foursome formed in 2002 after high school friends Slade and King bumped into each other at a local guitar shop. The band achieved national success with their first single, “Over My Head (Cable Car),” which became a top ten hit in the U.S., and the release of their second single, “How to Save a Life,” brought them worldwide fame. The Grammy-nominated band continues to receive critical acclaim for their third full-length album Scars & Stories, out now on Epic Records. Scars & Stories has garnered attention from USA Today who calls the album “more muscular and more buoyant,” while still maintaining a “searching earnestness that will delight the faithful.” People Magazine continues that the new album is a “solid effort that is easy on the ears.” To celebrate the release, which debuted #4 on Billboard Top 200, the band performed on “The Late Show with David Letterman,” Today Show,” “Rachael Ray Show, “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” and the PBS Premiere “Live from the Artists Den.”
