Tom Odell Announces U.S Summer Tour Dates

TOM ODELL, WINNER OF 2013 BRITS CRITICS’ CHOICE AWARD, ANNOUNCES U.S. SUMMER TOUR DATES

Jamie Thraves Directs “Another Love (Short Film),” Inspired By Lead Single From Odell’s Debut EP, Songs From Another Love

Odell Performs On NOWNESS.com & KCRW’s “Morning Becomes Eclectic”

Tom Odell, winner of the 2013 BRITs Critics’ Choice Award, will launch his next North American run on July 30 at Phoenix’s Crescent Ballroom. Tickets for the outing – which will also include shows in San Diego, Austin, Houston and Dallas – will go on sale this Friday and Saturday, June 7 and 8. See below for itinerary. The 22-year-old U.K. artist played a special Spotify show at SXSW and performed to sold-out houses at New York City’s Bowery Ballroom and Los Angeles’ Troubadour earlier this year. He will open for the Rolling Stones at London’s Hyde Park on July 13 and will play numerous international festivals this summer.

“Touring America has always been a dream of mine,” Odell recently told NOWNESS.com. “I grew up reading authors like Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald and William Faulkner, then obsessing over films by Terrence Malick and Arthur Penn. It’s so vast and so much has been written about it—it’s nice to finally be here, understanding it a little more.” Click here to watch Tom’s exclusive NOWNESS.com session.

“Another Love (Short Film),” which Odell shot in Los Angeles with director Jamie Thraves (Radiohead, The Verve, Blur), can be seen here. L.A. radio stations KCRW and KCSN have already added “Another Love,” the lead single from his U.S. debut EP Songs From Another Love (RCA Records / In The Name Of). Fans can check out Odell’s performance and interview on KCRW’s “Morning Becomes Eclectic” here.

London’s Sunday Times called “Another Love” “genuinely chilling” and NME predicted: “you'll be hooked by the arresting energy of his voice.” Odell, who grew up in the West Sussex city of Chichester, studied piano as a child and began writing his own songs at age 13. He is the first male ever to win the prestigious BRITS Critics’ Choice award. Past recipients include Adele, Florence and the Machine and Emeli Sandé.

Long Way Down, Odell’s full-length debut album, will be released in the U.S. later this year. He recently made his U.S. television debut on “Late Show with David Letterman,” performing “Another Love” with his band. The clip can be viewed here.
