Artist To Watch August Royals Releases “Crash”

LOS ANGELES (August 25, 2021) – Today, August Royals continues to establish himself as an artist to watch as he releases his second single, “Crash”.  As the song unfolds, this sultry track showcases August’s pure talent as his vocals are layered on top of a sparse drumbeat and he sings, “And I’m hungover but the thoughts are all you when I’m coming down, when I start to crash,” revealing the title and the mesmerizing chorus. The song was produced by Oak Felder (Rihanna, Kehlani and Demi Lovato). Listen to “Crash” here.

Today’s release is accompanied by the second episode of the ‘Inhaler’ series, the official video for “Crash”, which August conceptualized himself from the beginning. The video finds August getting entangled in a toxic, codependent relationship with his girlfriend, played by Fiona Barron. View the video, which was directed by Andrew Sandler (Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Mary J. Blige), here.

August is quickly making a name for himself as he’s already been featured in Pigeons & Planes highly coveted “Best New Artists” feature. They heralded, “Royals is the rare kind of talent who’s positioned to strike the difficult balance between artistry and accessibility, like he does on upcoming single ‘Crash.’” The new single comes less than a month after his debut single “Blue Football” which was met with praise and critical acclaim. V Magazine declared “August Royals makes his big debut with “Blue Football,” a gritty track with the guitar runs and staccato synth beats to match” while Clash called it “exhilarating” and praised, “Blue Football’ is a carefully finessed song, one that balances the micro with the macro in its search for meaning.” And Lyrical Lemonade proclaimed, “This up and comer has the inner workings of something extremely special.”

The Georgia-born and Los Angeles-based singer and songwriter first caught listeners’ attention in 2019 when he posted a clip of his song “Restless” and went viral on Instagram with hundreds of thousands of views. After a chance meeting with Kevin Abstract at a show in Los Angeles, the two became fast friends and collaborators. Championed by Abstract, August recently signed with RCA Records. “Crash” gives fans and listeners another taste of what they can continue to expect from the new rising artist.
