Buddy & Kent Jamz Release Joint Project Janktape Vol. 1 Via RCA Records

After sharing “She Think” last week, Buddy and fellow LA native Kent Jamz release their new joint project Janktape Vol. 1 via RCA Records. The project is the latest in a run of collaborations between Buddy and Kent following last year’s single “Hollyhood,” which was also the first offering from Buddy’s forthcoming sophomore album due later this year. Across ten tracks, the LA rappers showcase their hometown chemistry, seamlessly complementing one another’s styles.

Janktape Vol. 1 precedes Buddy’s sophomore album, the follow-up to his critically-acclaimed 2018 debut Harlan & Alondra. Following the release of the deluxe version of his debut last year, Buddy joined Vince Staples on an explosive North American tour, and performed at NPR’s Tiny Desk, The Late Late Show with James Corden and The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Buddy also played a major role in the Grammy-nominated Revenge of the Dreamers III album, featuring on seven tracks on the Director’s Cut version including fan favorites “Costa Rica” and “1993.”

For those who are less familiar with Kent, it’s worth noting that he has long been an integral member of the LA hip-hop community where he has collaborated with the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell, Childish Gambino and A$AP Rocky as a key member of LA rap group OverDoz..

Listen to Janktape Vol. 1 above, see full project info below and stay tuned for more from Buddy and Kent Jamz coming soon.
