Charlie Wilson, Jill Scott, K. Michelle Mary J. Blige, Ne-Yo, Patti Labelle And Trey Songz Announced As Performers At “The BET Honors”

NEW YORK, NY- January 22, 2015 – BET Networks announced today that performers, Charlie Wilson, Jill Scott, K. Michelle, Mary J. Blige, Ne-Yo, Patti LaBelle and Trey Songz will pay tribute to this years’ honorees at “THE BET HONORS” 2015. Joining the star-studded lineup includes presenters, Anthony Anderson, Bobby Brown, Diahann Carroll and Glynn Turman.

Celebrating the outstanding achievements of extraordinary leaders, “THE BET HONORS” recognizes trailblazers in art, music, theater, education, technology and business. Television personality, actor and comedian, Wayne Brady hosts the show for the second year, honoring Director of the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of African Art, and former president of Spelman College, Dr. Johnnetta Betsch Cole (Education Award); Tony Award-winning actress, singer and stage director Phylicia Rashad (Theatrical Arts Award); recording artist, songwriter, actor and philanthropist, Usher Raymond (Musical Arts Award), Chairman of Microsoft and CEO of Virtual Instruments, John W. Thompson (Business and Technology Award); and musician, producer, artist, author and designer Kanye West (Visionary Award).

“THE BET HONORS” 2015 will be taped at the historic Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, January 24, 2015 and will premiere on Monday, February 23, 2015 at 9:00 pm* during Black History Month on BET Networks in the USA, and around the world on BET’s international network on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 9pm GMT (check local listings).

Proceeds from the private sale of “THE BET HONORS” 2015 will benefit the National Cares Mentoring Program, an organization that helps transform the lives of Black children by inspiring, recruiting, and mobilizing masses of caring Black men and women to mentor and nourish, challenge and champion them.

“THE BET HONORS” 2015 sponsors include AT&T, Lexus, Macy’s and the U.S. Army. Stephen Hill, President of Programming, BET Networks, and Lynne Harris Taylor, Vice President of Specials & Music Production, BET Networks are executive producers, along with Jesse Collins of Jesse Collins Entertainment.
