[New York, NY – November 26, 2019] Following the phenomenal success of her Grammy nominated debut EP Rapture, which is up for Best Reggae Album and has amassed over 110 million global streams, Koffee is back with a new track and video “W” feat. Gunna. Listen to the track here.
On the collaboration, Koffee explains, “‘W’ is all about encouraging people to focus on the Wins and not the Losses, to not forget to live their best life and to always remember to give thanks. Big up to the whole team: production, the label and special thanks to Gunna for blessing the track with his feature!”
Watch the video, by New York’s award-winning director Matt Baron (Kendrick Lamar, Madonna), here.
Koffee had her first step into the spotlight in November last year with her break out single “Toast.” The undeniable hit of the summer garnered over 67 million audio streams and well over 87 million views on YouTube. Since then, the 19 year old Spanish Town native has earned herself a global fanbase. Chosen as one of BBC Radio 1Xtra’s “Hot for 2019” artists as one to watch, she was also Apple Music’s “Up Next” artist. Universally praised from media and fans alike, her COLORS session is still the 3rd most viewed of 2019 sitting at 5.3 million views.
Fresh from a 27-date tour of the U.S. with Daniel Ceaser, her recent Shepherds Bush Empire show SOLD OUT in under 9 minutes. This continues an energy which saw 500 fans and media (at a 250-cap venue) turn up to the launch of her EP in Brixton earlier this year and a mesmerizing performance on the Park Stage at this year’s Glastonbury Festival. With forthcoming dates in Ghana and Nigeria at the end of this year, the future is indeed bright for one of the hardest working teenagers in the business and she’s not about to end the year without causing another storm. In the case of ‘W’ that storm is quite literal as the video, filmed in Koffee’s home town in Jamaica eloquently shows.
